Passionate for plants..especially edible ones. Vegetable and herbs of all kinds find there way into my kitchen. The produce section, farmers market, is a world of color, shape, aroma and texture. Explore along with me as I experiment, ponder, taste and savor the foods of a vegetable lifestyle. I love having a herb and vegetable garden... and encourage anyone with a bit of land or a pot to try. Of course, these days you can't think of food or farming without considering being green or eco.

Harvesting Herbs

Started to harvest some of of my herbs.
Rosemary, basil, sage, parsley, thyme, oregano.

Picked them when the day had cooled off.

Try to harvest on a dry day.
I started early in the season, just in case it rains a lot in August.
Too much rain will ruin the plants.

The summer season is already started to change in the
north east section of the states.

Harvesting and cutting them back now will give
them a chance to grow more...especially if we have a warm Fall.

I will be using my dehydrator for the first time for drying fresh herbs.
They are drying now and the kitchen is full of an amazing aroma.

Thyme to Harvest...
