Passionate for plants..especially edible ones. Vegetable and herbs of all kinds find there way into my kitchen. The produce section, farmers market, is a world of color, shape, aroma and texture. Explore along with me as I experiment, ponder, taste and savor the foods of a vegetable lifestyle. I love having a herb and vegetable garden... and encourage anyone with a bit of land or a pot to try. Of course, these days you can't think of food or farming without considering being green or eco.
Red Food
Picked right from my yard. Raspberries grow wild...
thorny vines make them hard to pick but well worth it.
You never know what maybe growing near by...
like watercress...which I found growing by a small stream in a local Park near me.
I live an hour outside NYC...not in a rural area and still...it's amazing
what edible things you can find growing between the weeds.
Kiss my Soup
Creamy soups.. velvety, smooth and silky. Today, I made four of them.
Cauliflower...while not the sexist vegetable it transforms into a dreamy creamy concoction.
Asparagus...primal looking stalks, roasted to enhance its earthy quality.
Red pepper...roasted blacken skin to bring out its robust juiciest.
Red Lentil...the gentler lentil, delicate and sweet. Made with huge chunks of carrots and celery...more of a stew.
While I might occasionally post some recipes...the internet is full of great recipes sites. I look to bring attention to the qualities, possibilities and vast landscape of the Vegetable.
Served in my handmade bowls.
